Funeral services for Mr. Warren “Buck” Buchanan will begin at 1:00 PM Monday, June 12, 2023 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Roger Burke officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Buchanan, 69, of Meridian, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at his home.
Buck, as he was referred to by his friends and family, was a Veteran Navigator flying F4 Jets in the Air National Guard where he retired as a Colonel. He trained to become a Trooper with the Mississippi Highway Patrol and continued with his law enforcement career retiring as an Agent with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics serving as their helicopter pilot. In his spare time, he enjoyed an ocean view, and sailing with his family and friends. Buck was also an amateur HAM radio operator [KA5PSG]. He enjoyed spending time with his pilot friends at Meridian Aviation and enjoyed spending Wednesday nights together over a meal at Western Sizzler.
Mr. Buchanan is survived by his wife, Teresa Boykin Buchanan; their children, Sean Buchanan (Kristy), Jana Burchfield (Jacob), Randall Boykin, and Ryan Boykin (Meghan). Grandchildren, Kennedy and Payne Buchanan; Connor and Cooper Burchfield; Avery and Aiden Boykin; Trevor Ishee and Hunter Taylor, as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
Buck is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Laverne Kennedy Buchanan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Vance Moore, Dr. Bobby Clark, Freddie Poitevent, and Roy Graham.
