A monthly publication of the Meridian Amateur Radio Club January 2006

 Bible Verse

Acts 14:8-10 KJV - And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

President's Report

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thank all of you for supporting me as your club president during the year of 2005. We got a few things accomplished during the past year. One of my goals was to clean up some unfinished items-of-business from months gone by. That has mostly been accomplished or is very near to completion. Another goal was to increase attendance at our monthly business meetings. In this area, we did not fair as well.

Our annual Christmas party was tons of fun. Debbie and I thank all of you that attended.

During the December business meeting, new officers for 2006 were elected. There seemed to be very little interest from anyone taking the reigns of president. Fortunately Bill agreed to handle two positions.

  • President: KB5ASR, Bill Robinson
  • Vice President: KE5FHV, Ralph Moore
  • Secretary: KB5ASR, Bill Robinson
  • Treasurer: KD5JYJ, Debbie Hover

Our next business meeting will be on Saturday, January 7th at Queen City Truck Stop. I hope to see you there.

GE to all:

As some of you already know that it is the time of year for both the Lauderdale Repeater Group and Meridian Amateur Radio Club to jointly pay for Liability Insurance to cover both groups and repeater sites. This years premium remains the same price or $325.00 for a one year policy. Both groups will pay half of the premium ($162.50 each). I urge everyone to help pay for this expense. If you use any one of / or both repeaters just remember these things do not stay on the air all by themselves.

We are still hoping to have another site available to separate the 146.970/R and the 444.500/R. Both of these repeaters with remote bases capable of linking to other repeaters in our area will be a great plus.

All donations will greatly be appreciated.
