Proposed Delta Division QSO Party


A committee has been formed by our Director to study a proposed Delta Division QSO Party.

This QSO party is to be in addition to the already established state QSO parties. We would appreciate your opinions concerning the creation of the division party.

How do you feel about this new party?

Do you think it is necessary?

We are trying to determine if there is enough interest in the division for such a party.

Please talk it up with your local ham friends and email me your feelings and findings.

Storm Spotter Training Classes

Here are the classes and dates that Alan Dover gave to me.

ICS-100 28 APR 2009 1830 CLASSROOM A
ICS-200 30 APR 2009 1830 CLASSROOM A
ICS-700 05 MAY 2009 1830 CLASSROOM A

Interested persons may call (601) 482-9852 to register for the classes. Alan wants to limit the class size to 30, so the sooner folks get registered the better the chances of sitting in the class.

As I understand, the above are the minimum required courses needed for LEMA personnel acting in a volunteer status.

For future planning purposes ... Alan indicated that there would be 2 more classes down the pipe that a few folks might be interested in, myself included.

Un-confirmed future class dates and times:

ICS-300 18 - 21 MAY 2009 1830 CLASSROOM A
ICS-400 26 - 29 MAY 2009 1830 CLASSROOM A

(ICS-300 IS A PRE-REQUISITE FOR THIS CLASS) classes should be about 2 1/2 hours of instruction each night.

Seen in Atlanta, Ga. "Hop-A-Long-Kylan
(Second harmonic of N4UXY)

A Reward of 500 microfarads is offered for the information leading to the arrest of Hop-A-Long Capacity. This unrectified criminal escaped from a western primary cell where he had been clamped in ions awaiting the gauss chamber, charged with the induction of an 18 turn coil named Milli Henry who was found choked and robbed of valuable joules. He is armed with a carbon rod and is a potential killer. Capacity is also charged with driving a DC motor over a Wheatstone Bridge and refusing to let the band pass. If encountered, he may offer series resistance. The electromotive force spent the night searching for him in a magnetic field, where he had gone to earth. They had no success and believed he had returned home via a short circuit. He was last seen riding a kilocycle with his friend Eddy Current who was playing a harmonic.
