Hello all, I would like to start with a reminder of the May meeting and that it will be held on the 13th. I hope you can attend the meeting, we have some new things to discuss. Next MARC Business Meeting changed to 2nd Saturday

The next business meeting will be held at the Western Sizzlin Restaurant located on North Frontage Road on the 2nd Saturday this month, May 13 beginning at 11 A.M. Come join us for some awesome sweet tea, lunch, and fellowship.

** PLEASE NOTE: We will meet in the small room up front behind where you place your order.

HAM BOOTCAMP – GETTING STARTED WITH HAM RADIO

May 13th The Nashua Area Radio Society will be holding an online Ham Bootcamp on Saturday May 13th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Eastern Time.

Ham Bootcamp is a program to help new, inactive, and prospective hams gain the skills and information that they need to Get on The Air. It is open to any interested Ham or Prospective Ham in the US and Canada and there is no charge to attendees.

The morning session is geared toward operating on the VHF/UHF bands:

· Putting together a Station for Repeaters - How to pick an HT or Mobile Radio and an Antenna

· Radio Programming Tutorial

· Making Contacts and Joining a Repeater Net

· Getting Started with Amateur Radio Satellites

· Getting started with Fox Hunting

The afternoon session is geared toward operating on the HF Bands:

· Putting together an HF Station for SSB, CW, and Digital

· Picking and putting up an HF Antenna, Feed lines, and Grounds

· Operating on the HF bands using SSB Voice

· Getting started with WSJT-X and FT8 Digital

There will also be breakout sessions where attendee can choose one of the following topics:

· Learning CW

· Intro to EmComm

· Finding DX, Logging and QSLing

· Portable Operating

2023 ARRL Field Day Gear is Now Shipping! ARRL Field Day is June 24 - 25. Get ready for amateur radio's largest on-air operating event with official 2023 ARRL Field Day merchandise available for order now. T-shirts, hats, pins, patches, and stickers are great ways to show off your involvement in this annual event. This year's colorful design features a globe centered on North America and the words, "Tune In The World." The back of the t-shirt includes a check-off list of ARRL and RAC Sections - a fun way to keep track of your Field Day contacts.

Encourage club members, family, friends, and prospective hams to take part with ARRL Field Day recruitment posters and attractive "Get on the Air" (GOTA) pins for newcomers.
