 Bible Verse

2 Chronicles 7:12-14 --- the Lord appeared to him at night and said: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices. “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. President's Report

Good day all...  the test session went well and we have one new general, congratulations Kary! Also another session coming up so it's a good time to study if you want to upgrade.

Next we will be meeting at the Queen City Truck Stop because of the Western Sizzlin has been closed for repairs. They are still working on it and it has not been said when they will reopen. Also if you would like to set aside one Saturday morning a month for a coffee social, then let's talk about it. Hope to see you at the meeting for fun, food, and fellowship.

GE to all: It is the time of year for both the Lauderdale Repeater Group and Meridian Amateur Radio Club to jointly pay for Liability Insurance to cover both groups and repeater sites. This year’s premium remains the same price of $325.00 for a one year policy. Both groups will pay half of the premium ($162.50 each). I urge everyone to help pay for this expense. If you use any one of / or both repeaters just remember these do not stay on the air all by themselves. All donations will be greatly appreciated. Dennis NO5C

Integrated Public Alert and Warning System

On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA) will jointly conduct a nationwide test of the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS). The test is being conducted to make sure that the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs) are working properly. The test will begin at approximately 2:20 PM ET and will be split into two sections. The first alert will test the WEAs, and the second will test the EAS. Your cell-network based mobile devices will alert at that time.
