The Greatest Commandment
Matthew 22:34-40 --- Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. and the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (NIV)
President's Report
Hello all,
Hey! If you didn’t make it out to field day this year then you missed out on some good fellowship. We tested a few antennas, some did well and some flopped. We had one that was burning up the bands. Apparently the vertical was the antenna of choice this year as it whipped the fire out the long wire versions that were up and running. We had several come by just to see what it was all about and I have been getting calls and emails asking how to become a ham. It looks like a class is in order soon. I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting.

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Today, we may think that when wi-fi goes down it’s the end of the world when that is simply not the case.
This is where HAM Radios come into play. The gear they use is what’s known as an “off grid” system that allows communication without any internet.
The President of the Amateur Radio Club, Charles Grisham, and some other members of the Meridian Amateur Radio Club, set up at O’Charley’s parking lot to test and show off some of that equipment to the public.
“What we’re doing today we’re actually setting up antennas trying to make contacts all over the world. All of the HAM’s nationwide are doing this and we do this as kind of like emergency preparedness. We do this like twice a year. We come out, we set up antennas. We try to contact each other for about 24 hours. That way we can see the different conditions, the changes and everything. What this does is it shows us where our weaknesses are and where our strong points.”, said Grisham.
Grisham said that HAM Radios help out with public safety and allow everyday people like you and me to know exactly what’s going on. When cell towers go down, Ham Radio operators are there as a last line of communication.

Quote of the Month
“Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve.” —Mary Kay Ash
Have a BLESSED month!
